DropShop
DropShop is a scalable droplet-on-demand microfluidics platform that enables precise manipulation of nanoliter-scale droplets. An automated computer vision system tracks each droplet’s volume and trajectory, controlling solenoid valves to dispense and inject liquids with high accuracy. This enables cost-efficient, high-throughput performance of various biological assays.
Autonomous Platform for Pulsatile Soluble Stimulation
While biomedical engineers have invested tremendous effort towards recapitulating many aspects of the cellular microenvironment, few tools are available for regulating the dynamics of the soluble environment. Secretion of reproductive hormones by the pituitary is regulated by the frequency of hypothalamic pulsatile signaling, with a periodicity of 30 to 90 minutes. Here, we aim to develop a microphysiological system that automates the pulsatile delivery of GnRH to gonadotropes cultured in open wells.
